On 7 February, Ofgem announced the levels of the temporary prepayment price cap - one of the remedies from the Competition and Market Authority (CMA) investigation of the energy market.
The price cap will run from April 2017 until the end of 2020 when the roll out of smart meters is set to be completed. Ofgem estimate that the cap will save many typical prepayment customers around £80 a year.
