Labour announces plans to insulate four million homes

Post by ALEO Admin » Tue May 01, 2018 1:50 pm

On 1 May 2018, the Shadow Business and Energy Secretary Rebecca Long-Bailey announced refreshed plans by the Labour Party to bring four million homes up to Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of C or above by the end of a five-year parliamentary term.

The Government's recent Clean Growth Strategy pledges to bring 2.5 million fuel poor homes up to an Energy Performance Certificate Rating of C by 2030.

Labour has also promised to ramp up Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) legislation, to require all domestic landlords to bring their properties up to EPC rating of at least C by 2035.
