Citizens Advice has published analysis which it says "shows the regional disparities in the unjustified profits being made by electricity distribution firms" and is calling on them to take action and return this money to their customers.
Last year, research by Citizens Advice found that decisions by Ofgem, relating to the way it calculated price controls across the gas and electricity networks, have cost consumers a total of £7.5 billion, over 8 years.
The research shows that even in the regions least affected, networks are set to make excess profits averaging £75 per household, with the highest excess of £125 in Merseyside and North Wales.
