Research from Citizens Advice shows that 140,000 households in Great Britain with prepayment meters have been left without gas or electricity because they didn’t have enough money to top them up.
The research shows that potentially vulnerable households are particularly at risk of being left without heat or power, finding that 72% of households that self-disconnected have a child or someone with a long-term health condition living there.
