North East ALEO launched

The North East region held its first ALEO meeting and launch event on 2 December 2016 in Durham City.
The event was hosted by Durham County Council and sponsored by Mitsubishi UK. The new Chair, Cliff Duff and Vice Chair, Susan Carr introduced themselves and ALEO to a varied audience made up from local authorities, charities, energy companies and third-sector organisations. The Chair and Vice Chair hope to establish a network across the North East region to share information and good practice on issues relating to energy efficiency and fuel poverty.
The event focussed on an introduction and overview of ALEO, delivered by David Colbourne, National ALEO Vice Chair, a North East Energy Scoping exercise by Jonathon Mullard from the Department of Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and an overview of air source heat pumps by Pete McNaughton from Mitsubishi.
Feedback from attendees agreed that it was a worthwhile event and successful launch. Dates have been arranged for future quarterly meetings throughout 2017, with the next meeting on 10 March 2017 at County Hall, Durham with topic areas and presentation suggested by attendees.
