Sustainability Action Learning Sets: Sustainable Procurement Series
Our Sustainability Action Learning Sets are open to all council officers in England to provide a safe space for officers to reflect, exchange and curate knowledge around delivery projects. For our second series, we will be focussing specifically on procurement challenges facing councils delivering their sustainability targets. Councils will participate with both a sustainability and procurement officer. The sets will be made up of a maximum of 6 council project teams and facilitated by the LGA. You can find out more information and read the frequently asked questions (FAQs) on our webpage.

Local Government White Paper
In the run up to the general election the LGA published its Local Government White Paper which sets out how councils can help to deliver national priorities and make a huge difference to people across the country. The white paper identifies six priority areas where local government can work with central government in partnership to address national challenges and one of those six priority areas is ‘Backing Local Climate Action’.
This white paper will form the basis of our early engagement with government as they work up their election manifesto pledges and their green prosperity plan.
Research into Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards policy
The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero are keen to hear about your experience of using the existing Private Rented Sector Exemptions Register and managing properties that are exempt from complying with Minimum Energy Efficiency Standard Regulations. This includes hearing from Local Authorities who don’t currently use the register, so we can understand why. Your feedback helps to improve the service.
